Birthday Goals: Catriona Gray Raises P442,500 for Kids With Cleft Lip Through Smile Train Fundraiser
Former Miss Universe Catriona Gray just proved that beauty queens can make a real difference beyond the crown. For her birthday this year, the Filipino-Australian stunner chose to skip the lavish celebrations and instead launched a fundraiser for Smile Train Philippines — and it paid off big time.
Gray raised a total of P442,500 through her birthday fundraiser, which she personally turned over to Smile Train Philippines. The organization provides free cleft lip and palate surgeries and comprehensive cleft care to children across the country who otherwise couldn't afford treatment.
"Thank you to everyone who donated towards my birthday fundraiser this year," Catriona shared on social media. She confirmed that the funds would go directly toward various medical procedures and treatments for Smile Train Philippines beneficiaries — kids who deserve a chance at a normal life.
This isn't the first time Catriona has used her platform for advocacy. She has been a long-time supporter of children's causes, even before winning the Miss Universe crown in 2018. Her ongoing commitment to charitable work has made her one of the most respected beauty queens in the country — hindi lang maganda, mabuti pa ang puso.
Smile Train has helped thousands of Filipino children born with cleft conditions receive life-changing surgeries. With Catriona's fundraiser adding nearly half a million pesos to their cause, more kids are set to benefit from the program this year.
